Environmental Land Services (AUST) is a gas distributor, licensed by the Essential Services Commission of SA (ESCOSA) to supply Reticulated Gas to consumers in South Australia.

We design, construct, own and operate underground reticulated LP Gas reticulation systems to deliver LP Gas, in vaporized form, to households and commercial enterprises.

Our underground gas reticulation is a full fusion-welded, high-density polyethylene (PE) network that reticulate LP Gas vapour from above ground bulk storage LPG tanks. These tanks are located in ELS owned and operated compounds. The tanks supply gas directly to customers’ gas meters.

ELS is not a gas retailer. Our role is the safe and reliable supply of gas to consumers. ELS has a supply relationship with the Gas Retailer ELGAS www.elgas.com.au.

Under our ESCOSA Gas Distributor License and, ultimately, the SA Gas Act, ELS has the responsibility to operate our Gas Reticulation in a safe, efficient and reliable manner and fully comply with all applicable Australian Gas Codes & Standards.

We work with developers and their engineering consultants to forward the plan for the design and construction of new gas network infrastructure. Licensed gasfitters install our pressure reduction “regulators” and gas meters at each customer’s premises.

We also provide to each customer the gas inlet connection from the gas mains in the street up to and including the “gas riser” into the customer’s meter box or, in some cases, into a garden gas meter box.

All ELS gas reticulation networks are operated under a registered Safety Plan – including emergency response to any gas leaks, annual inspections, gas leak surveys and planned maintenance.
